Through our extensive broker network and internal processes to find off market deals, we identify well located land or “tear down” properties that fit our criteria to build. Our focus is areas that have consistently high demand and limited new supply of land that most developers do not have the flexibility or staying power to successfully entitle.
We are both syndicators and investors. As such, we are strong believers of "skin in the game," and purchase properties ourselves or with outside partners. We analyze on a deal by deal basis, allowing us the ability to be diligent and conscientious with the capital we place, rather than being incentivized to invest by the nature of pre-raised capital.
Aksel partners with the best architects and designers in the area. Most builders template their floor plans with slight adjustments per house. We treat our home as an art piece, building each house in the context of our own personal desires to bring a custom feel for the end user.
We have existing relationships with high quality consultants, architects, and engineers, who have a proven track record of city approvals. Post-entitlement, we analyze the risk / reward of selling the entitled land or continuing through the construction phase. At this point, we have now added value to the asset, creating further optionality to a successful exit.
When proceeding to this stage, we have decided that building is the best route to maximize the return on investment. We underwrite the build-out conservatively from both a time and cost perspective. Aksel has extensive in-house construction expertise and our general contractors license allows us to take over the construction phase entirely, if needed, whilst increasing efficiencies and cost management from the beginning in the case we hire a general contractor.
Aksel works with experienced brokers that have local expertise and a track record of impressive sales. We begin conversations before the build-out is complete in hopes to sell before going to market. At market, we price competitively and look to exit our investments within 6-9 months.

Jenson’s experience spans real estate investment & development and collateralized debt originations. Prior to founding Aksel Development, Jenson worked for WPJ Development, assisting with project management and new construction of single-family residences. In early 2016, he invested in his first properties on his own - two single family homes in Puerto Rico. Since then, Jenson has personally completed over 200 real estate and debt investments between Puerto Rico, Miami, and Los Angeles. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker in California / Nevada, and holds a General Contractor’s License in California.
Jenson is a graduate of Pepperdine University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. He competed on Pepperdine University’s tennis team, of which he helped the team make the Final Four of the 2012 NCAA Division I Championships starting in both the singles and doubles roster.
